ABOUT.KRC is a small faith-based ministry that does most of our work in Kuala Lumpur. We are also a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit in the USA.
OUR VALUES
All of our work is guided by seven kingdom values:
1: Honor All People
We believe that all humans have inherent worth and all people, sojourners especially, are welcome in God’s kingdom.
“The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.” Leviticus 19:34 |
2: Seek Justice
We pursue God’s heart by speaking out against injustice and pursuing peace, honoring both the Creator and His creation.
“Is this not the fast which I choose, / To loosen the bonds of wickedness, / To undo the bands of the yoke, / And to let the oppressed go free / And break every yoke?” Isaiah 58:6 |
3. Serve the Persecuted
We stand with our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ, offering care, support, and encouragement in their time of need.
“If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” 1 John 3:17 |
4: Love the Church
We love the church by empowering them through sending and serving programs.
“Walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:1-3 |
5: Multiply God's Love
We grow ourselves and others in Christ-likeness so that we can display His love and proclaim His goodness.
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35 |
6: Invite the Nations
We invite the nations to come and see God’s goodness by taking part in our programs. We believe they will "know us by our love."
“I tell you, many will come from the east and the west and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 8:11 |
7: Turn Towards Suffering
We make the difficult decision to move towards suffering, pain, and hopelessness because Jesus made the same decision for us.
"...we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." 2 Corinthians 1:4 |
OUR STRATEGY
"In Kuala Lumpur as it is in heaven"
We pursue our mission by planting Kingdom Hubs—visible expressions of God’s Kingdom within the refugee communities of Kuala Lumpur.
At the Hub, we draw the nations into community through intentional programs and equip the church to be sent out as ambassadors of God’s Kingdom
OUR COMMUNITY
Why Kuala Lumpur? Why refugees?
1. THE NATIONS ARE HERE
Malaysia is home to hundreds of thousands of refugees, asylum seekers, and stateless people. They come from all over the world.
As of May 2025, there are some 200,260 refugees and asylum-seekers, representing over 50 countries, registered with UNHCR in Malaysia. UNHCR Malaysia |
2. THE NEED IS GREAT
Refugees in Malaysia have no legal right to work, attend public school, or access government services. They live in constant fear and crippling poverty.
In Kuala Lumpur, 84% of refugee children between the ages of 13 and 17 do not have access to any education. UNHCR |
3. WE ARE CALLED
The KL refugee community is made up of the persecuted, the displaced, and the overlooked. Therefore, we move toward them.
“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’" Matthew 25:45 |
OUR PARTNERS
Giving and Gaining for the Kingdom
At the heart of the Christian ethic is this belief: we are all broken and in need of help. So let's all help each other. KRC aims to establish a network of partners, all of whom can give to our mission and gain from our mission. If you would like to learn more about how your church, company, or organization can partner with KRC, reach out today!
